有篇essay的题目是叫描述a character-building event or situation in which your involvement made a significant difference

这里的character-building是指影响我性格的事呢还是在某件事中我起了重大作用呢？

What is the complete question? What are other questions? Essays are a whole package. It is not practical to make judgement on one phrase.
