that 和 those 都指代 cars，这个怎么解释？前面的that是不是应该换成those更好一些。

的划A 的意思变成了这个工厂可以更有效的制造这个车，而且少了they did，所以这里的that一定不能省略， Today’s technology allows manufacturers to make small cars more fuel-efficient than they did at any time in their production history。

any other time，other应该要的，仔细想的话，当前也是history的一部分，都是发生了的事情。
A和B的their也不好，有歧义的。C补了those，意思很清楚

抛去比较单考虑now就有歧义，make small cars more fuel-effective now，now可以修饰动词make，也可以修饰形容词fuel-effective

中those at any other time 的时态应该是过去式吧，不同于that are more fuel-efficient的现在时，按道理those后面应该加一个were，为什么没有加呢？
