The Accounting and Information Systems Department at Rutgers Business School (RBS) welcomes your application to our specialty master programs and MBA in Professional Accounting program. There has been a national shortage of accountants and the employment opportunities will continue to grow. Also, employers prioritize recruiting job candidates with data analytics skills and advanced accounting and tax knowledge. Our graduate programs will help you open more doors to various job opportunities and will also enable you to be better prepared for the CPA exam.

For students who are interested in joining in-person programs, our Newark campus is conveniently located close to the Newark International Airport (EWR) and New York City (20 minutes by train).

Here are the highlights of our four graduate programs:

1.        Master of Accountancy in Accounting and Analytics Program:

•        STEM designated program which grants international students 24-month OPT extension

•        Study fully online or on campus. All online students pay NJ in-state tuition.  

•        Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam

•        No application fee or GMAT/GRE requirement

2.        Master of Accountancy in Governmental Accounting Program:

•        The first and only online Master program in Governmental Accounting in the United States

•        Ranked #1 in the 2024 U.S. News Ranking of Best Online Graduate Accounting Programs

•        No GMAT or GRE requirement

•        A dual degree program available with the School of Public Affairs and Administration where a student can simultaneously earn both a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Accountancy degrees.

•        All students pay NJ in-state tuition. Program tuition can qualify for the Public Loan Forgiveness Program when a student works for a government employer.

3.        Master of Accountancy in Taxation Program:

•        A 30-credit, in-person and, for those who wish, online part-time program designed for busy, working professionals

•        Ranked #5 of the top Master’s in Taxation Programs in the United States

•        No GMAT/GRE or letter of recommendation requirements

•        Eligibility to take the CPA exam

•        Highly competitive salaries for program graduates

4.        MBA in Professional Accounting Program:  

•        Attain an MBA degree in 14 months and be eligible to sit for the CPA exam

•        No GMAT/GRE or letter of recommendation requirements

•        Successful placement outcomes at the Big 4 accounting firms and strong alumni network
