A girl in her 20's, does she truly think she want to work 80 hours a week after getting a JD and paying off 100k in debts? I am sure some girls do. But it is an individual decision that only she can decide. And in general, guys are more ambitious and more driven by career and money than girls. Females do get good jobs like the males. Females even get better grades than males in many cases. The problem is the cost, not the benefit of the JD degree here. good points again. i would like to share my opinions on this topic here just for discussion's sake. my situation may not be applicable to many ppl, but on the other hand i don't think i'm a total outlier. i'm a woman going 30, not a jd, but would i want to put up with 3 years of law school "hell" and a hole of ~200k in my pocket for the opportunity of a highly challenging and at the same time potentially highly rewarding career? hell yes. honestly i am driven by career, why, because, first i do think (debatable) i have a brain, at least i quite enjoy mental challenges, and secondly, a laywer job will help me get what i want out of life both personally and hopefully for a larger group of ppl i come to contact with. again, maybe i'm saying this because i've done enough partying and dating and wasting my time in my early 20's. even taking family and future children in the equation, i'd still put a successful career as my priority. because the way i look at it, we women can have babies in late 30's till, right, and with the right person, you can always work domestic issues out. |
