一道prep的SC题目

错选了D,正确选项是E，我很困惑，因为觉得前后都是rate不是更平行一些吗，为什么选择E.

unlike都不对 不平行。 D 的句子根本读不通。。。 half of what？如果你在d和e之间徘徊过。   那个failling有点不太舒服。。 感觉 rate ofxxx后面直接跟一个名词 没必要名词再加个-ing  而且e完全读的通 常见用法。。 肯定就E 了。。

可是前后都是rate不是更平行吗

the rate is more than half啊，就是rate超过一半

the rate is more than half 英语不会这么说这个话的。。。 本人觉得half不能代替一个数字所以没法比较。half of some value 可以作为数字。。 而且greater than 比 more than 用来比较rate 更合适

找了个老外的解释
"The rate is more than half" does not make sense. Half of what? half of 1% (0.5%); or half of 100% (50%). We never say "the rate is half". It's wrong.
