正确答案是E 我选的是D
确实是在这两个选项当中纠结 但是答案对D选项关于ambiguity的解析不是很懂kk
感觉manhattan里关于Dash的用法介绍也没有很多
想请教一下关于这里D选项的歧义问题是怎么分析的呀？

(D) The hard stop of the dash after Alex Honnold became the first person to “free solo” makes it sound as though Honnold was the first person to “free solo,” period. Is that what the sentence is trying to say? Or was Honnold the first person to “free solo” … El Capitan? Or perhaps El Capitan had been “free soloed” before, but Honnold was the first person to do so in under four hours? The numerous possible interpretations leave too much ambiguity.

就是同位语a feat once thought impossible的位置，会不会引起歧义。
E的意思就是徒手攀岩这个悬崖是不可能的任务。
D的意思可以理解为：徒手攀岩这个悬崖在四个小时之内是不可能的任务。暗示以前有人在4个小时以上成功过。

这里的DASH相当于双逗号，同位语充当的是插入语。
这道题就是真实考试中高分库的难度了。D没有绝对的语法错误，主要靠meaning来解题了。

啊~明白啦
D选项相较于原句将in four hours也列入了这项壮举的一部分
原句只是在modifier里提到Honnold用时4小时~

becoming和climbing平行了，这两个不是平行的

感谢回答！自己从语义上想了下是有些不平行。
再请问下这个错误可以理解为，climbing是伴随状语，becoming是结果状语，所以不平行吗？

不过我看解析好像不是我这样的
因为平行有的时候也可以表因果关系，eg：I worked hard and thus got 770 in Gmat.
