求助OG2020的一道新题

一颗汤圆

小白求教大家一道og2020的新语法题，这道题的SVO我的理解是stock traders+convinced+that引导的宾语从句。但是又有一个疑问就是第一个分句看起来主谓宾结构好像也是完整的，stock traders have set out to become global investors，那后面的convinced又接的是哪个主语呢？一直绕不开对第一个分句的疑惑，请各位大神求教，SC一直是我难以攻克的关卡。

Many stock traders in the United States have set out to become global investors, convinced that limiting their investments to the U.S. stock market, even though it is certainly home to the stocks of some of the world’s great corporations, restricted their gains.

看到了其他人的讨论，convinced是伴随状语，但是为什么这里的伴随状语是过去分词呢，一般我们看到比较多的是ing形式的，该如何去理解它呢？有没有大神可以详细讲讲？

convinced 这里是这里的subject应该是就stock traders 查了下字典由be convinced that 表示坚信，
当然这里不是考点了，不要想着把修改正确的句子，永远也不会改的比原句好，ron说的哈哈哈哈哈。

看着题顺便补了点idiom知识，despite 不接clause ，可以使用despite the fact that, despite of是错的，despite=in spite of

我更加迷茫了，我以为convinced是修饰主语stock traders的。

对应该是主语，我又翻了一下Manhattan，past participle with comma 是adverbial modifier
