Dear PSU and all, I just got a letter from the admission committee saying that David Lenze, Director of the MBA Corporate Relations, will be my most possible phone interviewer.

So could you please let me know:

How formal or informal was the interview? How rapid-fire? How long? How much was the interviewee expected to initiate, rather than just respond to, questions? How friendly was the interviewer? Is he deadly serious while conducting an interview, or the other way round?

Congrats on receiving the interview invitation! Below is my response to your questions:

This will be an interview for admission decisions. So I will hesitate to describe it as "informal". You'd better take it seriously. Usually, it will last somewhere between half an hour and one hour.

Most likely, the formation of this interview will be questions and answers. But there will be rooms for you to take the initiatives.

Dave is very friendly, absolutely not "deadly serious" type of person. He joined the admission team recently and has interviewed dozens of applicants.

Tom, congratulations for getting the interview invitation, and also congratulations that David is your interviewer.

He interviewed me on Jan.19th. He is a very nice person. His English is very clear and in comfortable pace.

Don't be nervous, just try to answer his questions one by one. He has great passion on answering your questions, hehe.

剛剛結束了phone interview. 我的interviewer 是 Tim Erickson. 大約進行了40-45分鐘。

他人很nice, 也分享了很多求學經驗。他說我的表現不錯，interview這關沒有問題，再來就看我其他的資料了(gmat, work experience...)，不知他是不是客套或只是安慰? 我對自己回答的表現並不是很滿意，吃了不少螺絲。

回答時要小心，他會請你舉concrete examples. 我就是這些examples沒有準備好，只能臨時亂講一通。嗚嗚嗚.........

面試題目都很之前朋友分享的差不多。

talk about your career process.(我的第一個問題)

what other shcools have you applied ? (我答only smeal so far) 他追問why ?

why mba ? why smeal? career goal after graduation ?

what would your coworkers describe you about your strength ? weakness ?

your leadership definition ?

experience on leadership ? teamwork ?

a recent challenge you have had in your work ?

how do you deal with conflicts in your team ?

what portfolio would you choose at the 2nd year ?

any questions to ask him ?

俺明天面试PSU，哈哈。

有几个小问题，是不是每个面试官问的问题都自成体系，就是说某一个面试官总是问相对固定的问题？你每个问题一般回答多长时间？

疑问：40分钟可以回答那么多问题吗？因为加上客套和他回答你问题，总共你回答问题的时间也就30分钟把？
