请教一道GWD的题目， than比较的省略问题

这个题目答案给出的是B. 我理解they 前面无指代。但是我不太理解的是，如果than 后面是anticipated, 那么这应该是比较的省略， 如果是省略的话，那么省略的应该是主句的主语。这里主句主语是accidents, weather conditions and pilot errors. 但是把这个带到than 后面的话，就是accidents, weather conditions and pilot errors anticipated. 这样语句不通。


The spraying of pesticides can be carefully planned, but accidents, weather conditions that could not be foreseen, and pilot errors often cause much larger deposits of spray than they had anticipated.

非划线部分说散布杀虫剂“可以”被计划，（但是存在提前不可预知的因素）比如意外、天气和失误是提前不知道的，会导致用量增多，

而D里主系表结构，not foreseeable是天气的固有属性，潜在含义是提前已经知道了天气是不可预测的，

选项B跟意外和失误在提前不可预知性上更加平行
