222. By a vote of 9 to 0, the Supreme Court awarded the Central Intelligence Agency broad discretionary powers enabling it to withhold from the public the identities of its sources of intelligence information. (A) enabling it to withhold from the public (B) for it to withhold from the public (C) for withholding disclosure to the public of (D) that enable them to withhold from public disclosure (E) that they can withhold public disclosure of
Answer is A.
Why can it insert "from the public" between "witthold" and "the identities"? Also in OG 258, it is OK to say "note as an example that somebody do something".
But, in OG 92, it is wrong to say "confronted at once so many changes". Also I met a SC, it is wrong to say "raised at its meeting the possiblity".
答案没有问题,不过OG中关于E的解释不是很明白,请指教 and "that" in E mistakenly introduces a new independent clause rather than a modifying phrase for powers. 难道说这里不能用定语从句来修饰POWER????

1, who r 'they'? 2, i guess that attributive clause is ok, but it should be ' powers that it uses to withhold ...' ---> redundant
