Anyway, it is really a bad sign for Beijing applicants or even applicants across China.
Though those guys do not get deferral, it is still not too hard for them to get in again this year. So, the available space for the rest Chinese applicants is much fewer than before.

It's not my intention to give up Purdue, but because of the visa thing. Anyway, it's maybe not a bad thing for me if i am lucky enough to get into Michigan this year

why you think Purdue is not a good choice? Of course Purdue is in USA, but it has a program in Germany.

I asked a Michigan alumna about Essay #3. This is her answer. Hope it helps:
"What they are trying to get at is whether you are someone who will be a
business leader that simply makes decisions based on the financials or rather are you
going to make decisions are good for the people involved, the environment, society, etc.
There is a concept in business about "social responsibility" that Michigan strongly
believes in.  "
