这道题的答案是C 我的疑惑点在于B的错误在哪里呢？nevertheless doing的用法有什么不妥吗？

We will consider the three choices A, B and E first. E is out first due to redundancy of -but nevertheless-
Between A and B: there is an adverbial modifier in the form of -nevertheless creating -. It should modify the theme of the previous clauses, namely Dolphins lacking vocal cords, in effect absurdly meaning that the Dolphins, lack of vocal cords is creating sounds. What are producing the sound are the sphincter muscles. So now we have to look for the correct choice between C and D. C' as you know is too bad to comment. D is the choice ultimately in this none too satisfactory topic.

谢谢回复~但是我想请问一下 creating的逻辑主语不是dolphins么？如果是这样的话 我不觉得B有什么不妥呀~
我回去又想了一下 是they的指代有歧义么？

上面的兄弟已经解释了

看看a和b，这里有个-nevertheless creating形式的adverbial modifier。它应该来修饰前面的句子的主体--  Dolphins lack vocal cords (鲸鱼缺乏声带 )... 产生的效果的就成这句话的含义变成 : "缺乏声带“制造出声响...  和想表达意思完全不一样了，逻辑上很可笑

虽然鲸鱼没有声带，但鲸鱼依然可以依靠sphincter muscles制造出各种各样声响

我看看了选项，也感觉不对，d选项结尾缺了个介词by

有些人觉得c,d选项里的they指代不清楚，但我好像记得只要主从句的主语是一样的，就不存在指代不清楚

Dolphins lack vocal cords,but they do create sounds  到底是指代Dolphins 还是cords


我的理解，主句从句主语都是dolphins,应该没问题




不知道这道题是哪里来的，如果出处不明，最好别纠结。只做有权威出处的题目！

谢谢你的解答~我完全理解了~creating sounds作为lack vocal cords的结果不合适。感觉之前有点把自己绕进去了 这道题是GWD的题目 感觉应该也还算是正规来源吧~
