关于one that 的一点困惑

这几天复习语法的时候看到了两道题
第一道题说A选项错误的原因在于 one本来就有代词指代的意思，后面加上that会很多余，所以排除了A选项，但是我以为这里可以用作是嵌入式关系分句

但是在第二个题里面的e选项中，这种one that 却能够得以保留
感觉真的很困惑呀
有木有NN可以帮我解一下疑问呀~~

好像是没有的
第一题的划线应该是在 that they believe is 那里

一点浅见——
嗯，其实我觉得这就是个定语从句的省略问题
第一个题that是定从宾语，一般可以省略
第二个是定从的主语啊，一般不可以省略
不过这个不算gmat重要考点，所以第一个题的考虑出发点应该不是这个that，虽然a跟d都很wordy但也不能说完全就错了
应该思考的是是one is of a type这个用法吧

说一点第一题我的理解：

A: one that they believe is a type previously unknown to science;
E: they believe to be of a type previously unknown to science.

在这两个选项中，one后面不管是句子还是名名词知语，都是补充说明的作用。they believe和they believe to be都是插入语，就像：

who do you think you are这里面的do you think跟这里的they believe作用是一样；

拿掉以后：

A: one that is a type...
E: one of a type...

我觉得这题的核心考点还是语义，one of a type...而不是one is type...
