答案A没问题 但是看了OG解析之后有了点困惑

1.C 选项 The relative clause that has expandeddescribes instant, which makes no sense.

似乎OG的意思是说 这里的that作instant的定语从句 可是如果是做noun modifer的话 就近原则不是应当修饰 twenty billion years ago 而且之前只看到过that可以跳跃成分指代 请问that也可以跳跃成分修饰吗?

2.D 选项 illogicallysuggests that beginning is expanding, not theuniverse.

这里根据OG的意思 that似乎又变成了代词 指代 beginning 可是结构上跟C选项明明一样 为什么却充当着不同的角色呢？

3.ten to twenty billion years ago 这里又是做什么成分呢？做 instant的noun modifier吗？

感谢耐心解答 还有两个小问题 1. 这里that不能理解成代词的一个原因 可以理解成如果that是代词的话 这两句  the beginning of the universe was an explosive instant ten to twenty billion years ago // that(the universe) has expanded ever since 两句话就run-on 所以需要用comma+conjunction连接才可以 这么理解正确么？
2. ten to twenty billion years ago 如果是时间状语的话 为什么前面没有连词呢？还是省略了 感觉看起来好别扭 这里ten to twenty billion years ago是修饰 instant 还是began 呢？

NN好，想请教一下为什么that一定是修饰instant，而不可能是修饰the beginning呢？（OG的解释也说D选项illogicallysuggests that beginning is expanding, not theuniverse）我以为CD都有that既有可能修饰instant,又有可能修饰beginning的歧义。怎样理解呢？

第一点的话
that引导的定语从句 从语法上来说 是不是前面所有的名词都有可能呢?
(the beginning/the universe/instant/years)
知道介词短语中的名词不能做主语 但是被修饰的话应该也是可以的吧  

总之就是因为 虽然the universe也是可能之一 但是因为存在四种可能 所以存在不确定性不选 可以这么理解么
