都不是很能理解，the number of which没有指代？我感觉which就是指wolf population呀；
C中however修饰are scheduled，为什么会有这样的意思，however不就是转折嘛为什么还要关心它修饰谁呢？可以在area后面加一个分号或者在however后面加一个逗号就能解决这个问题？分号和逗号到底都起着什么作用呀？

哪位可以帮忙解释一下吗QAQ

很简单，要么是the number of the wolf要么是the population，能理解吗？
这里wolf population是一个noun phrase，which指代不了wolf，如果指代population就重复了。population本身就是数量了，不能the number of the population。
然后C是一个run-on sentence，两个句子用一个逗号就连起来了（however是副词），应该需要一个连词的。
分号的作用就相当于连词，可以连接两个句子。


PS：妹子我回答了你几个问题感觉你的语法完全是混乱的啊。。。基本还没入门，建议先去看看曼哈顿语法~

可是the size of population里的size和population不重复嘛。。

我去牛津字典查了however真的只是副词，这个颠覆我的认知2333，谢谢了

有the size of population这个用法呀，百度一下你就知道~

关于重复，可以这么理解吧。

The population of China is balabal可以直接跟数值；
The number of people in China is balabala也可以直接跟数值。

另外number要修饰可数名词噢

按理说the number of 后面应该可以接单数名词 但是为什么OG说
However, the phrase the number of which has no referent since it cannot logically refer to the noncount noun population or to the singular wolf, which is used adjectivally here to modify population.

楼上有说啊，wolf population中的核心词是population，这里的wolf相当于一个形容词，所以不可以放在the number of后面。

还有想请教下 这种noun-adjective是不是跟possessive nouns一样呢？都是nouns充当着adjectives的角色？

简单说两句。
主从句之间关系有时表达牵强时，更好的做法就是把句子结束，新起一句，像这里B这样。
几个排除点：
the size of population 比 the number 好。尤其the number of which 别扭
however 不加逗号，不做连词，类似whatever 是一种让步意义的副词修饰

是的。

不一样的，虽然核心词都是后面的名词。
比如：the woman teacher指女老师，是teacher的子集；复数形式为women teachers；且woman不可以用代词指代。
而the woman's teacher指这个女生的老师（等于teacher of the woman），是一种拥有与被拥有的关系；复数形式为woman’s teachers；且woman's可以用her指代。
