关于比较级的补充问题

最近做的几个比较级的题经常是把刚总结出来的规律推翻，总感觉自己没认识到最深层的本质，今天又总结了一下，希望有人能帮我看下问题，提点建议~

比较句中的歧义与修正

比较句的问题分为：（1）比较级前有SVO结构，想比较S和比较级后的事物，容易有歧义；（2）比较级后直接加一个时间点。以上两种问题可以通过下列方法解决：（1）在比较级后补足SV；（2）比较级前的结构改为 SVP（针对问题1），或比较级后的时间点改为想要比较的同类词（针对问题2）。

PROBLEM 1. 修正“比較級前有O，且是S比S”的问题

例: It informed his literary style as much as the content of hisfiction. (False)

MEHTOD (1) 补充SV

My father lovesme as much as my mother. (False)

My father loves meas much as my mother does. (True)

METHOD (2) 比较级前改为SVP

Plants are moreefficient at acquiring carbon than fungi, (False)

Plants acquire carbon more efficiently than fungi, (False)

Plants are more efficient than fungi at acquiring carbon, (True)

PROBLEM 2. 修正“比较不同时间点”的问题

因为是比较两个时间点的情况，无非是比较同一个事物在两个时间点行动的不同(SVO)；或者，同一个事物在不同时间点上的性质不同(SVP)。

MEHTOD (1) 补充SV

例1(SVO). Because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more forcrude oil than they were last year.

例2(SVO). Demographers would have to know a great deal more than now. (False)

Demographers wouldhave to know a great deal more than they do now. (True)

例3(SVP). ……, making the construction industry's economic healthmuch more robust than five years ago.(False)

……, making theconstruction industry's economic health much more robust than it was five years ago. (True)

例4(SVP). They are hungry as lastnight.

They are hungry as they were last night.

METHOD (2) 比较级前是SVP形式，可将比较级后的时间词改为想比较的事物（类似于Plants are more efficient than fungi at acquiring carbon这种形式的比较句）

例1. Heating-oil pricesare expected to be higher this year than last year. (False)

Heating-oil pricesare expected to be higher this year than last. (True)

*这里的last不是last year而相当于一个名词：last year‘s heating-oil prices；又因为比较级前的结构是没有O的，只有S，prices能与than后面的noun发生比较，所以可以使用时间词改为名词的方法。

例2.

Prices at the producer level areonly 1.3 percent higher now than a year ago. (False)

Prices at theproducer level are only 1.3 percent higher now than those of a year ago. (True)

*与上例相同，因为比较级前是SVP结构，可以通过把a year ago这个时间词改为一个同要比较的S同类的词：those of a year ago即prices of a year ago，类似于increase of 2000，是noun。
