答案是B，但是A中，ing为什么不可以做结果状语，看了很多解释，说ancestor不能reduce their numbers，但是ing做结果状语的时候，逻辑主语不是应该可以是主句主语或整句话吗？比如说，she skated yesterday， breaking her legs. 感谢大家！！！
