请问，E除了单复数问题和only位置问题，可以用has been ranked 么？就是diabetes应该是自己发出rank这个动作还是被rank？

ranks as或者is ranked应该都可以，所以has been ranked as 是错误的。

但是ranks并不理解为diabetes自己发出这个动作，明显它不可能发出动作吧。这里ranks应该理解为类似be with the rank of 的意思。

has been ranked 还有时态上的问题，因为这里描述的是diabetes的一般状态，如果用present perfect tense就改变了原句的意思。

另外我感觉可能是rank的词性也有关系吧，可以作不及物动词也可以做及物动词~

楼主，求问only的位置问题！
我能理解only紧跟by heart disease and cancer的句义，但是如果是only surpassed by heart disease and cancer, 句义会产生什么影响呢？谢谢

•
先从两个比较简单的例子入手：
Ⅰ. I kiss only Sally. （限定名词 Sally）
→ 我只是亲了 Sally，并没有亲 Lily, Kate….
Ⅱ. I only kiss Sally. （限定动词 kiss）
→ 我只是亲了 Sally，并没有 hug, touch….

回到本题，我们根据句意可知 Diabetes 是排位第三的死亡原因，仅次于 heart disease 和
cancer.
•
所以此处 only 需要就近修饰名词 heart disease and cancer，而不是限定修饰动词 surpassed.

二刷又碰见这道题，又有新的疑问想求大神指教~
C选项：我们说：“糖尿病排名第三”，是没问题的。而说：“糖尿病有一个排名（Diabetes has the rank）”，即，糖尿病拥有排名。这样对么？
另外就是rank of后面是不是必须直接接名次，不能接“国家第三的死亡的原因”？

这个具体词的用法其实我也是查词典的，呵呵。rank as 和 be ranked 都是最主要的用法。

Diabetes has the rank of 这种说法我觉得肯定是awkward， rank of后面是不是能接这种描述性的介绍我不清楚。

个人建议还是不用太过钻研这种个别词的用法，SC中idiom的考察已经非常少一般也不会是决定性的，就想这题里，其实不用知道rank的用法也能判断。
