(Can't type Chinese on company's PC....)
About the American campus experience or hanging out with American instead of Chinese, I think that really depends on your personality. If you're a outgoing person and also find yourself very comfortable with American friends, you'll definitely have American friends no matter what. A school life is not the only thing you get. Studying in US is a life experience, not just school experience. You have chance to get to know people everywhere --- at school, in a gym, volunteer activities, anywhere. However, if you're not a outgoing person, then you'll still end up only hang out with Chinese (or even no one), even if you go to a school with 99% American students population. If you haven't been living in another country yet, it may be more different than you think. Perhaps you're an outgoing person in China, but hanging out with American friends may be different. My true story, the life here is really totally different from what I expected before I came to JHU Carey.
But the good news is that you don't really need to worry too much about Baltimore's security. Be aware and you'll be fine. Sometimes when I have friends visiting, I'll even drive them to the most dangerous neighborhood here for fun (stay in your car, of course!). |
