10. Some people prefer to spend time with one or two close friends. Others choose to spend time with a large number of friends. Compare the advantages of each choice. Which of these two ways of spending time do you prefer?
Essay:
Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people hold the idea of spending time with a large number of friends. Meanwhile, others prefer to spend time with one or two close friends. From my point of view, it is more advisable to choose to spend time with a large number of friends rather than to spend time with one or two close friends. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
We may look into every possible reason, however, fore most reason for spending time with a large number of friends is that we could attain more information. For example, one or two close friends may only tell us the information that closes to us, such as local news or school news. Nevertheless, more friends can tell us a wide range of information from the country they live to the job they are doing, and these information will surely make us wiser.
Another reason why I agree with the above statement is that more friends can bring more fun to us. Take a birthday party as example, people usually like to have a bunch of friends to participate their party rather than only one or two friends. Not only can we receive more gifts, seek more ways to have fun, but also we can make more new friends.
Furthermore, what is worth noticing fact is that stay with more friends can let us learn how to get along with different people. Obviously, people will finally step into adult society, and we will have to work with different kinds of colleague. For instance, friends are people that we like to stay with, but we don’t have any choice after go to work. Boss will assign our colleague and our partners, and you have to work with them even you don’t want to.
In a word, to choose spend time with one or two close friends or to spend time with a large number of friends is something of a dilemma to the public because they sometimes are confused by the seemingly good qualities of spending time with one or two close friends, and neglect the genuinely good aspects of spending time with a large number of friends. For the reasons presented above, I strongly commit to the notion that spend time with a large number of friends, but not spend time with one or two close friends.
