这里有谁是土木工程背景在TOP 20 MBA?

I am a licensed civl consulting engineer in USA (worked here since 2002 after a MS in civil eng), got a so-so GMAT (710 with only 72% in verbal) ,I am planning apply for an MBA to switch my career to either real estate finance or business consulting, any NN has a similar background? or any suggestions to me for top school applications with such a rare backgroud, compared with those ex-bankers or high-tech guys?

I am also a civil engineer in the states. unfortunately, civil engineering is also categorized as engineering when applying for MBA programs. being an asian engineer, you should expect the competition unbelieveably fierce. You will compete with alot of well/over-qualified asians from domestic and international. my advice is to sell the uniqueness of your career. There must be something specially in your job, afterall, you are building highway bridges, but not computers. hopefully you will also have something very personal, and not job related to make yourself stand up from this ample pool.

Good Luck!!

i am also in civil engineering. but i am not a structural engineer. I am in construction management. Currently I am working as cost consultant for project manager in America.

My goal is also real estate finance or project finance.

One of my friends, with 3 year structural design experience in US, graduated from cornell this year. He is looking for jobs in wall street. Haven't heard whether he has already landed a job, but he said market is positive.

Cheer up! Don't worry, your international exposure, cross-cultural experience in America make you unique in application pool.
