1By 1999, astronomers had discovered 17 nearby stars that are orbited by planets about the size of Jupiter.
A:had discovered 17 nearby stars that are orbited by planets
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps8236.tmp.pngB:had discovered 17 nearby stars with planets orbiting them that were
答案选A
2Over the next few years, increasing demands on the Chattahoochee River, which flows into the Apalachicola River, could alter the saline content of Apalachicola Bay, which would rob the oysters there of their flavor, and to make them decrease in size, less distinctive, and less in demand.
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps8237.tmp.pngB:and it would rob the oysters there of their flavor, make them smaller
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps8238.tmp.pngD:robbing the oysters there of their flavor and making them smaller
I can read and sing.正确
      I can read,sing.错误
D
如果B选项不存在语法问题,变为and it would rob the oysters there of their flavor and make them smaller,这样的话和D之间比较应该选哪个呢?
3As sources of electrical power, windmills now account for only about 2,500 megawatts nationwide, but production is almost expected to double by the end of the year, which would provide enough electricity for 1.3 million households.
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps8249.tmp.pngA:almost expected to double by the end of the year, which would provide
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps824A.tmp.pngB:almost expected that it will double by the end of the year, thus providing
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps824B.tmp.pngC:expected that it will almost double by the end of the year to provide
file:///C:\Users\apple\AppData\Local\Temp\ksohtml\wps824C.tmp.pngD:expected almost to double by the end of the year and thus to provide
E:expected almost to double by the end of the year, which would thus be providing
A:因为which就近修饰year,所以错误??同E
Bthus
剩下C,D,不知道要怎么区分that从句和to do
D

B:that at some time in the past our ancestors suffered an event that greatly reduced their numbers
C:that some time in the past our ancestors suffered an event so that their numbers were greatly reduced,
D:sometime in the past our ancestors suffered an event from which their numbers were greatly reduced
E:sometime in the past, that our ancestors suffered an event so as to reduce their numbers greatly,
10Unlike the conviction held by many of her colleagues that genes were relatively simple and static, Barbara McClintock adhered to her own more complicated ideas about how genes might operate, and in 1983, at the age of 81, was awarded a Nobel Prize for her discovery that the genes in corn are capable of moving from one chromosomal site to another.
B:Although many of her colleagues were of the conviction of genes being
C:Contrary to many of her colleagues being convinced that genes were
D:Even though many of her colleagues were convinced that genes were
E:Even with many of her colleagues convinced of genes being

E

1、By 1999, astronomers had discovered 17 nearby stars that are orbited by planets about the size of Jupiter.
A:had discovered 17 nearby stars that are orbited by planets
B:had discovered 17 nearby stars with planets orbiting them that were
答案选A

2、Over the next few years, increasing demands on the Chattahoochee River, which flows into the Apalachicola River, could alter the saline content of Apalachicola Bay, which would rob the oysters there of their flavor, and to make them decrease in size, less distinctive, and less in demand.
B:and it would rob the oysters there of their flavor, make them smaller
D:robbing the oysters there of their flavor and making them smaller
I can read and sing.正确
     I can read,sing.错误
D
如果B选项不存在语法问题,变为and it would rob the oysters there of their flavor and make them smaller,这样的话和D之间比较应该选哪个呢?
本题考察伴随状语, increasing demands on the Chattahoochee River could alter the saline content of Apalachicola Bay,不可避免的带来oysters口味和大小的改变。

3、As sources of electrical power, windmills now account for only about 2,500 megawatts nationwide, but production is almost expected to double by the end of the year, which would provideenough electricity for 1.3 million households.
A:almost expected to double by the end of the year, which would provide
B:almost expected that it will double by the end of the year, thus providing
C:expected that it will almost double by the end of the year to provide
D:expected almost to double by the end of the year and thus to provide
E:expected almost to double by the end of the year, which would thus be providing
A:因为which就近修饰year,所以错误??
2)which结构上修饰year,句意上修饰上面一句话,你可以理解成this would provide,但GMAT里不允许这样。
2)production is expected that ... , providing sth。
剩下C,D,不知道要怎么区分that从句和to do
expect sb to do sth
I expect that
sb/sth is expected to do
eb/sth is expected that这些说法都正确吗

4、Among the objects found in the excavated temple were small terra-cotta effigies left by supplicants who were either asking the goddess Bona Dea’s aid in healing physical and mental ills or thanking her for such help.
A:in healing physical and mental ills or thanking her for such help
E:to heal physical and mental ills or thanking her for such help
aid in doing ,aid to do
选A
aid to do,帮助去做,表示意图要做,但人们已经用祭品来感谢了,不可能是要去做吧,所以aid in doing sth.
