请教两道比较题目中than省略主语的区别？

D. movies, a number lower than the people      (B)

E. movies, fewer than the ones

如上两题 答案都是B 第二道题prep中解释说 seven people是一个带有数值概念的复数名词，所以后面不能用those。而用than,than后面省略主语，后面补出have been，让省略的主语自动拥有”数值”属性。

那么第一题中的an annual per capita income of $111 不也是一个带有数值概念的名词吗？ 为什么可以用 that代指呢？ 为什么不能用上题中than后面省略主语的方法解释选项A呢？？？

求指教!

个人理解：than前后要平行，A中than后面的介词短语在前面灭有平行对象。正确选项B的that是指代income而$111只是income后面的补充修饰，再看下面的例子：

Employment costs rose 2.8 percent in the 12 months that ended in September, slightly less than they did in the year that ended in the previous quarter.
A  less than they did  
B  less than it did  
C  less than they were  
D  lower than  
E  lower than they were
key:A 如果有less than的选项也不对，因为会歧义

是因为有谓语have been吗？？

那下面这一题正确答案B中省略了了have been的主语 ...

我列出的那两道题，第一个不能省略是因为比较对象本身就错了，歧义都谈不上。第二个是比较对象有歧义。而你说的这道题，在语法笔记里面说如果主语一样那么可以省略，这道题符合规则，不会产生歧义。

其实你说的这道题我有个纠结点就是能不能把have been也给省了，因为语法笔记里面说如果前后主谓一样的话，后面的主谓是可以省的。我个人感觉have been省了也不会有歧义，不知道对不对。
