【求助】OG16-35关于equally likely as和as likely as

正确答案是E（没买OG16所以只有答案没有正统解析……）
我做题的时候觉得比较的时候为了避免歧义要把they are补上，所以还剩B和E， 但是这两个选项除了一个是equally likely as一个是as likely as之外其他都一样，是不是没有equallylikely as这个用法呢？但是也经常看到有equally likely的说法……所以有点纠结……


还有就是想求助各位大神，什么时候比较的时候需要补动词什么时候不需要补呢？如果都用判断原文逻辑意思看是否会有歧义的方法用时太久有点怕来不及……之前在X东方上课的时候老师说的是  只有在比较结构且倒装的情况下助动词一定要补

你经常看到的equally likely可能后面没有搭配as吧，比如：
Boys and girls are equally likely to have an impressive GMAT score.
如果有搭配as的例子，请举例出来，我们可以一起研究一下：）

什么时候需要补助动词，RON的说法是句子意思存在歧义的时候需要助动词，比如：
I know more about Shakespeare than my brother. ->  incorrect 因为句子存在歧义：我比bro更了解莎翁，还是，我了解莎翁多点，了解bro少点？
I know more about Shakespeare than does my brother. -> correct

我是直接在网上搜equally likely as的。然后跳出来很多外文界面……但是因为都不是考题啊之类的所以参考价值不高，
就比如有Young Americans (18-29) Are Now Equally Likely to Vote for Atheists as for Evangelical Christians
还有So pi containing 3.141592653579 is equally likely as pi containing 1415926535797, which is equally likely to contain ABCDEFGHIJKL for every random ABCDEFGHIJKL?
这样的……

关于助动词是否要省略的问题找到了RON‘’的一段话
RON:
you've learned a lesson here: the gmat's preference for that 'do' is not absolute.

from a 100% strict semantic viewpoint, i agree with you here: there's technically an ambiguity. however, we now have evidence, in the form of this problem, that the gmat doesn't consider ALL of these 'ambiguities' as truly ambiguous. rather, provided that the 'second meaning' is sufficiently absurd AND nonparallel (note the obvious logical nonparallelism of compairing total fat to livestock), it's ok to eliminate the 'do'.

sigh.

remember, we don't make the rules; they do. but with each problem like this one that you study, you'll have a better idea of exactly what their rules are.

我个人认为第一个例子中的as不是比较，而是有“in the same way that”的意思
Young Americans (18-29) Are Now Equally Likely to Vote for Atheists as for Evangelical Christians.
Young Americans (18-29)同样可以投票给Atheists正如投票给Evangelical Christians.
同样也可以说，
Young Americans (18-19) Are Now Equally Likely to Vote for Atheists in the same way that they vote for Evangelical Christians.

第二个例子可能还是相同的解释……

但是本题应该需要比较级，需要“to the same degree or amount”的意思，即在proposed speed limit和current one两种情况下超速的可能性或说可能的程度一样，所以应该选择搭配as...as...

但是。。如果是表示“in the same way"的话，强调某一动作和另一动作的相似性，as后面应该是完整的句子吧，as后面如果只跟名词的话，一般职能做“以... 身份“或者”做...“吧

RON: "equally ... as X" should be considered wrong.

if "equally" is used, it should be used in isolation.
the two candidates should be allocated time equally in the debate.
she has lots of experience, but many of the other candidates are equally qualified.
