答案是D，我就是很疑惑D中attempting作为现在分词难道不应该修饰主语The gypsy moth吗？但是该题中的意思明明就是修饰scientist，现在分词放句尾不是不能修饰宾语吗？如下题：

1.attemptin之前没有逗号，直接修饰离他最近的名词scientist。
2.如果不用which而直接用comma+growing，那就是表主句的伴随或结果： The 32 species that make up the dolphin family include the animal known as the killer whale, growing as big as 30 feet long and famous for its aggressive hunting pods.就是说海豚家族包括KW，长到30feet。明显看出主句和长到30feet并没有逻辑上的联系。因此只能用A中的which。因为comma+which一般是指代之前名词的。

就是说只有“，+Ving” 形式才是修饰主语或主句，或者做伴随？没逗号的话就是就近修饰？
