比较级省略 AS AS

毕业于外国语学校，我自诩比较级学的比较好，然而看到GMAT我还是疯了……

高中初中英语笔记搬家原因已经没有了，我能力弱网上似乎找不到现成的权威的比较级语法，于是我就看了很多SC，根据正确答案造句，以下。
比较—AS AS
I ate 3 times as many apples as those I did last year.
I ate 3 times the apples I did last year.
I ate 3 times what I did last year.
I ate 3 times as many.
I ate 3 times as many apples as I did last year.
I ate 3 times as many apples as last year's.
I ate 3 times as many apples as he did.
I ate 3 times as many apples as he.
I would like to eat 3 times as many apples as I would pears last year.

请问 “The man is five times older than his grandson."这样的句子是错误的吗？

高中的时候老师写过三种倍数比较法，其中就有这样的形式，但是看到有人说这是错误的，感到很懵！
