Songyi, orientation很重要，这时候大家都不太熟悉，很多后来两年的好朋友都是从orientation开始发展友谊的。

BTW,这个帖子也转到Bschool区一份儿，估计会有很多共鸣。

谢谢子溪，的确，现在Orientation结束后认识的人会更进一步联系了解。记得心理学上有这样的观点：人在陌生环境初期是渴望交朋友，也是最Open的，但随着朋友的增多，会出现饱和效应（由于习惯和某个圈子的人来往，导致新关系建立的困难化）。

seem that International Student Orientation is an introduction part for the fleshman. But i want more detail.

我听说美国大学新生入学第一件事情就是参加Orientation，熟悉环境，了解校园，有的发展成定向运动。记得我的大学以前也模仿搞过的。
