这道题的选项很tricky，A、B选项中的whose定语从句从语法结构上来说都没错，错的是句意。

A、B选项中crocodiles有两个modifier：lurking in the shallows和whose定语从句。这两个modifier互相之间没有关联，各自修饰crocodiles。比如a round black pen中的round和black没有关联。

然而从常识来说，crocodile正是因为lurking in the shallows，noses和eyes才会浮出水面，这两个modifier密不可分，互相强调。Ron说过，这种情况下，选with独立主格结构。

楼主有个概念生重大混淆啊，逻辑主语和句子相同的是非谓语引导的啊……都叫独立主格了逻辑主语当然不一致了……

1. 独立主格之所以叫独立主格是因为modifier中的主语和主句主语不一样，所以主语不一样是必然的
2. B选项中， whose需要紧挨被修饰词，它前面是shadow, 显然这个whose从句不修饰shadow，所以错了
