verbal review SC-19 题看不懂句子成分求大神！

语法SC-44f62h（这个题好是某模考网站上的）

答案是A 考点是agreement。我的疑问是，画线部分的character是名词吗，如果是名词，为什么后面又跟了一个 a miniature calligraphic composition...呢？名词后加形容词名词介词是什么用法？ 整个划线部分应该都是同位语modify前面的characters吧。

求大神指点这种奇怪的用法，我看着很别扭。

- each引导的强调型独立主格
形式为:句子 +复数名词结尾 , each +介词短语/形容词短语/名词短语/-ing形式/-ed形式
这种独立主格结构为了强调句尾的复数名词

如:
Under the restructuring, the huge organization that operates the company's basic businesses will be divided into five groups, each with its own executive.

Dr. Tonegawa won the Nobel Prize for discovering how the body can constantly change its genes to fashion a seemingly unlimited number of antibodies, each targeted specifically at an invading microbe or foreign substance.

独立主格独立主格结构（Independent Genitive）有两部分组成，前一部份是名词或者代词，后一部分是非谓语动词(不定式、动名词和分词)或形容词、副词、或介词短语。前后两部分具有逻辑主谓关系。在句子中作状语，表示时间、原因、条件、伴随、目的、补充说明等。
可我还是不明白character是名词还是动词，如果作名词那后面跟的那一堆算介词短语？难道character a miniature calligraphic composition inside its own square frame整个一起算名词短语？
名词后加冠词再加名词等一堆东西难道没问题？

An absolute phrase has the form [noun] + [noun modifier].
在这里each character是名词，a miniature calligraphic composition inside its own square frame 是在这个独立主格中修饰each character，当然each character that is a miniature calligraphic composition inside its own square frame也是对的。但是each character is..是不对的，因为是的独立的从句，如果改需要前面加分号。

你可能会不理解为什么一个名词each character后面为什么还可以跟a miniature而没有that is, 你可以把它想象为a miniature calligraphic composition 又是each character的独立主格吧。就跟ideographic characters后面可以跟each character这个noun modifier是一样的

你这么说我就能理解了！太感谢了，因为之前都没见过这种用法，所以觉得很别扭。
果然英语用法太多样了，还是得多看才行。
