答案是选B，我有一个地方不理解，在最后sides that....， 按照B的意思，难道that从句不是就近原则modify了sides吗？可是我理解的题意是thickened bones and armor plates lessen its vulnerability。。。

第二题的it指代的是chalice 所以一定要加那个it 这样句子的意思才表达的清楚！

47题 that确实是修饰bones and armor plates的，一个介词短语修饰，一个that从句修饰。因为从句很长，所以只能跟在介词短语后面。用Manhattan里的说法就是，you can't find a better place to place it。

我的问题是 47题中，species是复数，为什么后面的main verb是单数。不是说句子的主语不能看OF+modifier,应该看of之前的名词吗？
