我谷歌了这个所谓“异质比较”或者“异类比较”发现资料好少，是个使用很少的冷门用法，看过就算啦，我不准备去研究了。。。希望有NN来支持

做题时候时候就找不到比较对象，没有细想觉得是TE's style and choices are disturbing to his own time 和TE's style and choices are compelling for ours( our own time)比较，现在想想两个一个disturbing 一个cmopelling貌似还真不可比，原来比较的是程度！！！天，学习了！！

D， 通过比较对象排除了AB，C的话是growing前省略了suppliers are，意思是供应商养鱼和供应商自然养鱼的速度（其实这点我觉得无论和供应商自然养鱼速度还是和鱼自然生长比较都说的通，只是遵循了A原句的意思，是这样吗？？），D供应商养鱼和鱼自然生长的速度，Ewith和后面and raising 不平行

D是对的，我觉得你的理解很好啊。其实我做的时候做错了...
我正好做到这道题，是因我觉得这道题就是SC做题就要从逻辑语义出发来解题，就像这道题，按照语法知识其实只能排除剩下C和D，C和D的语法都是对的了，接下来就该通过逻辑语义来判断了，毕竟GMAT不是一个考语法的考试，最后还是逻辑思维判断。
C不对是因为suppliers are growing fish naturally，暗示了还是人在养，这样就与A背道而驰了，A明明是说fish's natural growth rate，暗示是鱼自然生长，所以C错误。

我选c吧
我的思路是这样的：
1.划线部分逗号之后应该表示结果，所以用-ing形式，同时又能够和划线外的raising平行
2.剩下ACD，我觉得这个比较有点像状语比较，可是A又没有介词at，
  所以我觉得选C，因为主语相同的缘故，选项中省略了suppliers are。

不知道我选的是否正确...
哦哦，才看到了你的解答，知道了C的错误，但是D选项算什么比较呢？主语 宾语 介宾 还是状语？

不好意思，借地方问一个问题，也是关于这个问题的。
因为OG16 SC104的正确句子是Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last.
这里than后面省略了相同的heating-oil prices were，我觉得这样是可以理解的。
但是很明显跟这个Prices at the producer level are only 1.3 percent higher now than a year ago.结构很类似，X is _er than Y.
但这里却必须要加those of
能解释一下为什么两个句子会有明显差异吗？

个人分析：
A:than前面有时间状语now，这是一个时间状语的比较，后面直接跟a year ago是完全可以的。主要错误在与句末therefore raised的时态错误，表面raised Corn 和soybean prices事件发生在floods hurt crops之前，逻辑错误。
B.加了those of使得句子更加清晰，但是就如A那样，因为不涉及歧义完全可以省略。另外这句后半句逻辑正确
C.错误在despite后面的后面跟了一个句号，使得and引导的句子不完整
D.as与higher一起使用搭配是错误的，后半句一般现在时表达通常情况，是可以接受的
E.as与higher一起使用搭配是错误的，后半句错误同C

好答案一定是比较出来的，还是那句话，语言本来就没有四海皆可的标准

但是要有大判断的原则，就状语比较来言，尤其是时间状语：

**时间状语的比较，能否省略取决于than前面是否有相应的时间状语。有的话，than后面主句可以省略；没有的话，than后面需要补出主谓，以避免比较对象上的歧义。

To develop more accurate population forecasts, demographers would have to know a great deal more than（they do） now about the social and economic determinants of fertility.   

[they do]不能省略，因为than前面没有相应的状语结构

这里的than in past years前面没有相应的状语结构，可以省略(they were) in past years 吗？
