又一道争议中的真题。。。

这题我选E，答案争议中。。。 有选C的。我觉得acoustic energy应该是被prevented,不合适主动prevent itself from dissipating. 你们怎么看？

我选E。 因为preventing 的逻辑主语是sound.

是 sound 可以穿过水和遥远的距离，它（sound)可以阻止它自己的声动能（在穿越水流时）被基于不同温度和密度的水层造成的边界消散掉（dissipating）

我也認為C比較好

句意是boundaries prevent 而非sound prevents

虽然(C )prevent是被动，感觉不好，且prevent句型似乎真的少用被动。

但为了整体句意的清晰，出题者将its acoustic提前，避免boundaries修饰语过长放前面的问题，且读者看了Sound can travel through wafer for enormous distances后，一定想赶快知道原因，所以马上紧邻its acoustic energy….来说明。

i prefer C . Analyzing the meaning, i think C is justified. Sound does not prevent....but if we choose C, it is alternative for us to imagine what prevent the acoustic energy from doing sth....

E粉刺在句子后面，这里说伴随逻辑意思就不对，不能说某个东西具备某个能力，伴随着prevent这个动作。那么表示前面句子的结果，逻辑意思也不对，不能说某个东西具备了某个能力，所以结果就prevent（反而应该是因为可以prevent,所以具备了这个能力）。

C是独立主格结构表示对前面句子的补充说明。说明Sound 能够travel through water for enormous distances的原因。

还有，大家解释说后半句表示原因，那表示原因的谓语怎么没有呢？独立主格是没有谓语的吗？

可否理解为:C项后半句变成主动语态为since boundaries prevent its(sound's) acoustic energy from dissipating. 被动语态过去分词前省去了being---its acoustic energy (being)prevented from dissipating by boundaries...此独立主格结构在句中作状语,表示原因. 省略了as/since,谓语动词是prevented, 省去了being.

试比较分词结构作状语时的情况As it is) Filled with excitement, this is more than a novel about war. 此时可以省略连词+主语+be的人称变化形式.独立主格结构可以看作这个形式的特殊情况,即分词的主语与主句的主语不一致,所以只可以省略连词和be,要保留分词主语.
