[求助]Two grammar question from PP

1) The (amount) of money generated by a nation in (a year) in the forms of wages, rents, (interest), and profits is (known the) national income.

Is the word 'interest' uncountable?

2) Photographer Edward Steichen constantly (experimented new) techniques and materials (in) his quest (to have) photograph accepted (as) a creative art.

Does anybody know why 'A' is wrong?

1. D 改成known as , interest作为“利息”讲是不可数
2. A 改成一般现在时就好，来表示一种经常发生的动作。因为前面有constantly。
