一个强调数字,后一个加了感情色彩.之前的那篇网文的中文翻译比较偏激,但是体会一下也不是没有道理.到现在我都没有明白,不管NO LESS THAN是什么形式,都有强调的作用,怎么变多余?只有老实听从NN们的说法,反正记住是多余就是.

我也有同样的问题，觉得原题中的强调是要保留的。

我觉得b很好啊，是不是nothing other than 不对呢？

我选了B。按携隐说的，necessary是必要的，没错，但是B的意思跟C是不一样的，B是说除了那个breakthrough以外没有什么别的是需要的了，就是说那个breakthrough是唯一需要的，不仅仅是强调那个breakthrough重要，更排除了其他东西的存在。而C没有这个意思。

nothing other than是不能去掉的，去掉了意思就变了。

谁来跟我探讨一下？

我个人感觉NO LESS THAN 是很强的强调语气啊.跟 "NOT UNLIKE"的区别到底在哪里?凭什么说一个就是冗余一个就是加强语气?以后再遇到类似的题目该怎么判断呢~~~~~~~~~~? 是以句子简洁为主，还是以保留句子语气为主？

"less" contains a sense of amount, for example, it refers to the quantity of money, water, air, and so on. i feel here "nothing other than" is a little better than "no less than". but in any case, C is the best answer according to OG. i don't know why.

1. no less than 在GMAT中一定要当比较来用，要有明确的比较对象。

a) sth + be + no less + adj. + than sth. / no less adj. than sth. be sth. (倒装)

b) no less X1 than X2 be …
                (特殊的比较方式)

c) no less than + sth. + be necessary/required/needed… redundant的结构，因为直接去掉no less than也不会影响原意。(OG242)

d) 但如果 no less than + sth. + 其他动词，往往不是redundant.

如：No less than 45 people attended yesterday’s meeting. 不可改成 45 people attended ….

但本题如果A选项是that no less than  one technical or scienctific
        

我想A就应该是对的

有可能需要很多种technical or scienctific
                

是强调数量上的比较

但

 A  technical or scienctific       不定冠词表示泛指

这道题非常非常的TRICKY。。

A,B,C三个句子根本就不能说是一个意思。。

A说no less than...也就是说至少一个breakthrough是必要的。表达的意思就是我们现在的技术还达不到标准。

B，nothing other than,强调就需要一个breakthrough

C, 和B的意思有的一拼。

你们说这个怎么办？？？？？

i chose C for i know A  IS MORE CONCISE THAN THE OTHERS。。。

有点小不同看法，我觉得c与a意思有一拼，a说至少有一个是必要的，c是泛指，而b强调只有这个

所以，nothing other than和no less than都是双重否定，多余
