TWE 153 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A zoo has no useful purpose. Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
Although some people think that a zoo has no useful purpose, different people have different opinions because of their different backgrounds. As far as I am concerned, I strongly believe that a zoo has some useful purposes. I will prove my views by the following discussions.
First of all, zoo can help human to learn a lot of knowledge. For example, if we see the true characteristic of an elephant, we can not go to tropic forest to know elephant, and the best way is that we go to zoo. We can learn different types of animals and acknowledge their characteristics which we can not get first feeling from books.
Another reason is that we can get some refreshments when we go to zoo. Since we have worked a whole day or have studied a whole day, zoo is a nice place for us to go. We can feel comfortable and relaxed, natural world. In addition, a zoo is a recreation ground for family members to go together too.
Last but not least, zoo is a home for extinct animals. Due to deforestation and some pollution, a lot of animals lose their homeland and a lot of species disappear every year. A zoo perhaps means a haven for many precious and rare species nowadays. As it is reported, over 100 various species of animals die out annually. Extremely some special animals can be seen just in certain zoos today. Zoo is a good place for save those endangered animal.
In conclusion, based on the reasons that I presented above, I strongly believe zoo is a useful place. Not only we can get a lot of advantages form zoo, but also some animals can be saved.  |
