OG182 :A consumer may not think of household cleaning products as hazardous substances, but many of them can be harmful to health, especially if they are used improperly.

OG194: Presenters at the seminar, one of whom is blind, will demonstrate adaptive equipment that allows visually impaired people to use computers.

請問;對與這種同位格的修飾問題,them和whom區別如何?怎麼選擇?或者說我把OG194的one of whom 改成but one of them可否?

这两个题是完全不同的。

OG182中，but之后引导一个独立的句子，所以需要自己的主语，因此many of them做了but之后句子的主语，them也有明确指代（因为后面的they指代cleaning products，这里用them来指代cleaning products在句意和语法上都吻合）。

OG194中，presenters at the seminar是句子主语，presenters是主语中心词，后面的one of whom is blind是定语从句，修饰presenters。如果你把one of whom改成but one of them就造成了名词与句子的并列：presenters...,but one of them is blind。不符合语法（but做连词只能连接两个并列的句子）。
