[求助]大全541，能不能将定语从句中的并列分句用逗号断开？

E选项 and merges之前有逗号，那会不会有歧义呢？merges 即可以看作是与前面的谓语 is 平行，也可以看作是与powers平行呀。

我记得大全里好像有一题就是因为将从属于定语从句的“but+句子”用逗号隔开，而是but引导的句子与主句平行引起歧义。盼指教！

PS：这个问题我本来是跟在“又一个语法考点的总结（现在分词伴随状语的正反向考法）”这篇帖子之后的，但是因为这个问题是跟原贴的讨论不相关的，看到的人也不多。所以就另开了一篇新贴。希望能解决这个问题，还望版主大人们见谅！

如果如MM所言与is平行，那就是主句的第二个谓语，那就是SVO,and VO的标准错误结构。SVO, and后面必须是SVO,既,and必须接independent clause，这道题还有一个考点就是like/as引起的歧义，既究竟Nuclear fusion与 nuclear reactors是原理相同还是不同。No choices but D demonstrate concisly and idiomatic,

MM说的but那道题是由于with引起的平行歧义吧？再翻翻错题集看看呢？不要说没有哦：）

噢，同意楼上的说法。我忽略了"SVO,and VO" 这个错误了。

我想对于我要问的问题“定语从句中用逗号隔开并列的分句是否正确”，我举的这个例子不好，请看下一个例子：

939． With its abundance of noun inflections, Icelandic is one of several Germanic languages that is compact when written but can lengthen considerably when translated into English.
(A) is compact when written but can lengthen considerably when translated into English
(B) are compact when they are written, but they can lengthen considerably when they are translated in English
(C) is compact when written but can lengthen considerably when being translated into English
(D) are compact when written but can lengthen considerably in English translation
(E) is compact when it is written but can lengthen considerably when translated in English

答案B之所以不正确，我觉得是因为原句想表达的意思是，but they can lengthen considerably when they are translated in English 和 are compact when they are written并列，都是属于that引导的定语从句的内容，修饰languages。但是在B中，but之前加了一个逗号，就把but后面的这个句子变成了一个独立的句子，与Icelandic is one of several Germanic languages that is compact when written 并列了。改变了句子的原意。

如果这个分析正确的话，我这个帖子的目的是想验证一下我的这个推论：是不是说，“SVO+that+V+O, and SVO"结构中and 之后的分句一定是与前半句的主句平行的？是不是就不能再看作是that 从句的一部分？那么“that+V+O, and SVO”这种从句结构就是错误的。对么？
