偶怎么觉得答案是D呢？

如果把C中的修饰成份去掉，就变成：The honeybee’s stinger  results in the fact that........ 我想stinger本身并不能result in 一个结果，前面应该顺接一个动作。

而且去掉的修饰成分：heavily barbed and staying where it is inserted 它们的并列也显得很奇怪，heavily barbed是描述stinger的性质（本身是可以直接加在名词前的），而heavily barbed表述一直进行的动作，两者放在一起似乎不妥；

而D把修饰词去掉变成：The heavily barbed stinger of the honeybee stays， and results in the act of stinging，指出是stay这个动作导致了the acting of stinging, 而 causing是分词作后置定语修饰the act。 逻辑意思正确。
