我是从逻辑上来判断的句子的成分的

这里,很明显是 人和人比,所以肯定是做主补的

如果是动作和动作比,那就是做比较状语了

这道题考了Like A, B do这种结构，在这种结构中，A和B必须对等，而且属性一致。

在题干当中，PH和很多自学成才的艺术家相似点不仅是did not begin to paint ，而且还有was well into middle age；如果是AS did，从语法上看，PH和很多自学成才的艺术家相似点只是前者did not begin to paint ；如果是As were，从语法上看，PH和很多自学成才的艺术家相似点只是后者was well into middle age，这就是OG认为E结构不是grammatically sound的原因，因为这里如果用as，没有动词可以补。这就像OG80题

划线部分之前文明是单数，划线部分之后是多个文明，必须用复数，用that和those都不对，只能把名词civilizations写出来。

而like不一样，它比较的东西在多方面必须同时是一致的，就像相似三角形一样。用like，PH和很多自学成才的艺术家相似点不仅是did not begin to paint ，而且还有was well into middle age。

Like的这个性质在OG60中有了最好的诠释

这句话对我来说觉得有点怪怪的，我还要再查查！

其实最容易的判断就是看它比较的成分

比如补语 它的词性是形容词或者名词,用来修饰名词的,那么显然它只能修饰主语或者宾语.

我觉like+n,实际上就是做主语的补语,也就是like后面的N和主语比较.比较的基本原则就是比较对象要性质相同,就象楼上说的

而as引导的是比较状语,因为状语从句是副词词性,它的修饰对象,是谓语动词.所以我们才说它比较的是状态

我觉得不用补出从句助动词.

Choices B and E, which replace A's prepositional phrase with clauses introduced by as, use auxiliary verbs that cannot properly be completed by any part of the verb phrase in the main clause: neither have ... did not begin nor did... did not begin is logically or grammatically sound.

我觉得OG说的很清楚，只有一个did不能代表 “did not begin to paint until she was
well into middle age” those are two opposite facts, you can not use 'as'.  give you a faulty example:
就像你不累一样，我很累。 Isn't it illogical??? E的错误我认为是省略部分不匹配。

E省略了to paint until she was well into middle age；翻译成：就像A做XX，B不做XX，逻辑上有问题。比如：就像A做XX，B做XX 或 就像A不做XX，B不做XX，前后动作对应，才比较合乎逻辑。所以E若可行，至少也应该用As did not。但是，要说明的是，感觉倒装好像也不合适，最好是As many self-taught artists did not, ....。当然，即便如此，比起A来E还是比较繁琐。

as A did, B did not...到底是B像A一样做了，还是像A一样没有做？有歧义。
