从句开头用代词its，语法要求逗号后面马上跟its的主语原型，所以cloud就是主语。its就指代cloud

这道题我们要从语义的角度去理解，第一句话讲了scientists who monitored its path，这里的its总要有个指代吧，毫无疑问应该优先指代后面那句的主语，那么究竟是指代cloud呢还是storm呢？我们接着看。
这句话的意思大概就是这个什么什么什么的cloud最近激发了环绕地球磁场区的large storm，随后导致了brighten the northern lights and knock out a communications satellite。
好了，看到这里你大概能理解了scientist监测path不应该是storm的path而是cloud的path，因为这个storm是被recently trigger出来的，你怎么监测啊。
光这一点split不够，我们再分析分析，5个选项中其实只有C和E通过v-ing表达出了“cloud激发large storm”导致的结果，这个结果是什么什么。这个结果不是cloud单独导致的，也不是storm单独导致的，也是cloud作用于storm之后导致的，因此用现在分词表示伴随结果非常合适。
比较C和E呢，其实很明显E中brightening和it knocked不平行，当然前面也提到了，storm作为主句主语也是不合适的，所以C是最佳选项。

我了解這題主要是考平行，但總結的時候有一個問題很想釐清

不曉得紅字的部份有沒有什麼優劣區分?
這邊的考法是否是關係代名詞子句限定，主動用that好過於Ving?

這題有不少其他考點，但是關於我問這個問題，希望有人可以幫忙解答。

c选项里面，为什么可以用surrounds呢？不需要用过去式吗？
