求批改指导,万分感谢。 Schools always collect information about teachers’ teaching performances and give rewards to those teachers who perform well. Which way do you think is more useful: 1. to evaluate teachers’ performances by students 2. to evaluate teachers performance by teachers? Why?
As the developmentof education system, whether the teacher’s performance should be evaluated bystudents or their colleagues has been discussed for a long time. On personallevel, I hold the opinion that the evaluations from the students are fairer anduseful. Firstly, thestudents know their teachers better. They are familiar with their teachers’ characteristicsand teaching methods if they have been taught for a long time. Therefore theycan give the most comprehensive evaluation. In contrast, the other teachersspend far less hours listening to their colleagues’ lessons. So they can notgive fair evaluations because those lessons may have been well prepared onpurpose and are not the real reflection of the daily performance. For instance,if there were some teachers or leaders come to listen, the teacher wouldarrange everything perfect, such as which students to answer the questions. Sothe other teacher would believe that the teacher really succeeds in illuminatingstudents to solve the problems by themselves. Moreover, there always existssome difference when the audiences in the classroom are only students. Some teachersmay not teach passionately the same as the other teachers are there. So thestudents can best describe the performance because they spend more timelistening to their teachers. Secondly, the studentswould give more objective evaluations. If the flaws in teaching methods havebeen solved, the students would directly benefit from correction. However, theother teachers do not have such close relationship with their colleague’steaching performance. If there is any mistake, sometimes they would consider itas a random error. Moreover, they would not like to point it out in order toget well related with their co-workers. Therefore it is reasonable for me todraw the conclusion that evaluations from the students are better for theimprovement of teacher performance. Lastly, it isalways said that the students are more honest and innocent than the teacherswho are always sophisticated adults. So they are would give the fairestevaluation. Moreover, there are always a large number of students, so a fewunfair evaluations would not influence the final result. However, there are notso much teachers in a evaluation team and the opinion from everyone of themplays an crucial in the outcome. Take my uncle, who is a math teacher, as anexample. The classes taught by my uncle always done well in exams. Once therewas an evaluation of teaching performance, he was thought to be the most populercandidate, however, one of the teachers who had personal feelings against him gavehim a very low grade during the investigation. Therefore my uncle was votedout. In conclusion, taken all the reasons into consideration, it is reasonable for me to draw theconclusion that the evaluation from the students would be fairer and usefulthan that from other teachers.
