more..than 是固定搭配，可此处不表示比较，只是情调比较小的部分。

than was ------was

是the more ....the more句型吗?不是说the more 后面的be动词可以省略的吗?

the more .. the more 句型。可以省略相同谓语，尤其是be动词。这里两种改法都正确。

后面是主句，可以倒装，但was不是必须的。
