When asked about whether it is easier to be a success in the past than it is today,people react differently.Many people may argue that people in the past with less competitors,didn't have to pay much effort and energy to beat the competitors and thus it is easier to be a success in the past.Whereas,people on the other side,refute the idea by claiming that the social environment,including the economic environment and technologic environment,is much more advanced today than it was in the past,and therefore people can take advantage of this today to make a easier success.
 After stating that everyone's opinion can be different about this,for me honestly,being a success is easier today seems more reasonable.To begin with,people today are more efficient than people in the past.With the modern mass-transportation today,plane,ship or train,people can go any place on the earth within a few hours,no matter the distance is hundred of miles or thousand of miles.Whereas,in the past,even traveling through hundred miles would cost several days.It is evident that time is vital for the success of a business,in other words,being late for a minute may lead to a failure of a million bill.In this case,people today possess a significant superiority over people in the past.
 What's more,modern technology is another factor that determines the fact that it is easier to be success today.Modern technology,meaningly,the technology advanced and up-to-date,includes computer technology,chemistry technology,mechanical technology and medical technology,and there is no doubt that all these technologies assist a person on the way to success to a large extent.For example,a chemical scientist had to spend years' experiment on a single subject in case of many interruption,such as operation temperature and air pressure change,and may end with no result in the past;On the contrary,today,scientists majoring chemist just need to push on a button of a machine to conform a required reaction environment,and the only thing the scientists have to focus on is just to analyse the results.Thus,it is obvious that scientists today,with the help of modern technology,are more likely to achive a success.
 Although there are a lot of factors that would inflence success,such as patience,persistence and intelligence,in total,it is more reasonable that being a success is easier today than it is in the past due to the respects I mentioned above.
