以下是引用annfeifei在2008-1-13 4:36:00的发言:
yn1999, what would you say about the J-term admissions competitiveness, more, less or equal? I can apply now in the regular decision so my application will be in by the end of this month, or i can apply for 2009 J-term. Both options will enable me to graduate in may 2010. I am not a career switcher so I am seeking some advice on which option to choose/which one is easier to get in? Thanks!

Traditionally, J-term is for people who are either sponsored by company or very experienced, enterepreneurs or family business owners. Normally there is no fellowship or scholarship. I was a bit surprised myself when hearing the good news.To me, the admission seems relatively easier due to the specific targeted population and the difficulty of getting visa in January without any financial aid. But if you don't have intensive North America work experience or permanent residency (remember, no internship for this program), I am not very positive about the odds of getting in.... But this year we do have a young mm from Tshing Hua University + 2 years work experience at a major private bank in China.

I say try both regular round first. You can still apply for 2009 J-term if rejected by regular round. Double check with the admission office.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
