even though i can understand them, but for XDJM who didn't sit the exam, they are too brief.

THE PEDESTRIAN SHOPPING MALL, LOUISVILLE。

开始老奶奶说大部分COMET AND METERITES都在MARS AND JUPITER之间 ORBITING THE SUN,而且他们的成分也和MARS,SMALL BUT OF ROCK,和JUPITIER, GIANT GASEOUS PLANET。

speaking questions:

3. Reading part: university plan to build a new sport complex becaus currently students have to wait for a long time to get physical facitities and the culprit for this is the shortage of rooms available at present.  Therefore, the university plan to build a new sport complex that sits north to the current one, in hope of alleviating the cramped conditions in the gym.

Listening: MM doesn't like this plan. As she believes, the current problems are not caused by  lacking rooms, but by the poorly maintained exercise machines, as many of which are currently not working properly or simply not working. As she thinks, what the school needs to do is to repair the equipment, and building a new center is not a wise decision. Besides, the new complex is too far from the center of the campus. it takes 20 minutes to get there from the dorm. As a resul, maybe fewer students will take advantage out of this new sports center.

4: Reading: People work differently when working alone and with other in a group.

Listening: an experiment discussed to support the viewpoint in the reading. a group of people are to work on puzzles on computer. before entering the room, half of the people are told that they will work alone and be scored individually. at the same time, the rest half are told that they are to be averaged as per the integrated performance of their group. as the result, the people in group work better and faster. as scientists observed, they also seem to be more relaxed.

5. MM like most to take African culture about Ghana, but time of the class conflicts with that of her tutoring, both of whic are on Tuesday evening . GG propsed two options: 1. to change time of tutoring. mm says she works well the man, her tutor.  2. to take the class, the culture class of Ghana next semester. mm says her prof will probably go to ghana at end of this semester and maybe there will be no class available for next semester.

6. Protection coloration is defined as that some animals disguise themselves so as to make them visually unable to be seen by predators. There are two types: 1.cryptic coloration, in which animals can change the color of their skin, hiding them in the environment. one example given is lizard, details are what happening when it walks through grass or near tree trunck, its color can be changed within seconds. 2. disruptive coloration is to disrupt , or baffle predators. Example,  zebro has stripes on its body, which can puzzle its predators by mixed them into the surrounding environment.

Reading Parts:

1. how to know the coming of volcanoes; 1). by increased and intensified seismic activities; others, such as temperature in the proximitry of the volcano and stange behavior of animals  before eruption; usefulness of predicting volcanic eruption: saving many lives. one example is given in a place(i forget the name, hehe, saved 80,000 people by evacuating residents before eruption)

2. the important role of predators in maintain a ecosystem: 1. prevent one or two species too strong and eliminate the existence of others 2. an exmperiment by a stupid us guy, handpicking all the barnacles from rocks along seaside for six years 3. one example in Britain glassland: if grazing herds such as sheep are removed, few years later, only shrubs can survive in the area.

3. transportation development in US: 1. indisnpensibility of improved transportation sys in US after revolution; 2. benefits from regional and tanscontinental roads development, eg. the spread application of cast-iron plow invented by a farmer from New York state (north and west region of the state) and this brought more food and fruit for city dwellers in the east 3. center parts: the construction of canal Erie, 3 benefical factors: merchants in NY wanted the water-borne transportation means; NY govener supported the project; and terrain along the canal is very gentle. 4. benefits from canal Erie. It is a success because it soon could sustain itself just after two years from begining. Another problem was no naturally available water to maintain the water level in the canal so many reservoirs were built for this purpose.

PRIVATE/COMMERCIAL FOSSIL COLLECTORS NOT GOOD BECAUSE 1。 MAKE PUBLIC INTERESTS DEMINISHED BECAUSE THEY KEEP FOR THEMSELVES 2。 PUBLIC INSITITUTIONS NO MONEY TO COMETE AGAINST PRIVATE BUYERS SO THAT ACCESS TO STUDY DECREASE 3。 DAMAGES DURING PRIVATED EXCAVATION

LISTENING:
