ving 歧义问题

答案选A 。  但是holding 这货难道不歧义么？？ 谁知道是逻辑主语是fund 还是 companies 啊

谢谢enkyklios 大大。 我理解了，把VING modifier一律看成是做状语就好了。 但是最后那个总结没着么看明白，就是 “2；目前己知的唯一能够”，--Ving"作定语的情况是被同位语隔开。  冒牌的【，-Ving】” 这句话。
这里是说 本来是 “n ving” 结构， 因为插入同位语所以变成了“ n , 同位语 , ving” 的冒牌“,ving” 是么？
这里面 ving 是作定语修饰n 不修饰同位语是吧?  

最后就是那个outnumber 问题。A项的outnumbering是离主语太远么……
