曼哈顿第二章一道题 不懂 求助大家帮忙！

1.    Students at Carver High School are encouraged to pursue onlythose extracurricular activities from which stems success in collegeapplications. success in college applications stems

问题是 判断下划线和黑体部分是否正确（ 黑体部分是下划线的替换）  
这句话没太看懂 答案是下划线部分和黑体的修改部分都对

为什么呢？ 大家能给我讲一下这句话的正确语序吗？ 太感谢啦！！

我们要明白从句的句子结构是：success in college applications stems from which。
所以，from which stems success in college applications和from which  success in college applications stems都对。一个是谓语前置。一个没前置。

如楼上所说。

from which 在从句中肯定不能做主语。
所以从句主语只能是 success ，谓语是 stems。
位语stems的位置对句子意思不会有影响。

恩恩 后面明白了 但是整句话的结构还是有点混乱
Students at Carver High School are encouraged to pursue only those extra curricular activities from which stems success in college applications.

整句话的意思是什么呢 不好意思有点小白。。
学生们被鼓励去买额外课程活动 之后的from which 是修饰extra curricular activities 的吧 但是感觉后面的定语意思和前面的搭不上啊。。

success in college applications stems  from extracurricular activities
stem from: If a condition or problem stems from something, it was caused originally by that thing.

学校只鼓励一种课外活动。
课外活动能cause成功申请大学
