Environmental protection and economic development are both vital to a nation. But when it comes to the issue of whether environmental protection should receive more financial support from the government than economic development, as far as I am concerned, the answer is yes. There are numerous reasons why I think the government should focus on environmental protection and I will explore only a few of the most important ones here.
To begin with, the main reason is that I think environmental protection is contributing to civil health and decrease the probable of cancer, even though environmental protection needs more money than economic development. Nowadays, pollution already became a big problem when people realise the damage of pollution to human. Some people even does not want to go outside, because exhaust causing by air pollution has an immense bad influence on our health. Having recognized the problem, it follows that we must develop a plan of action. Environment is closely related to people's health and government should increase the cost that project of environmental protection. For example, governments should raise a huge amount of money to purchase tree seeds or saplings and hire more people afforest the land.
In addition, there is another factor that deserves some attention here. Such as governments are responsible for spending so much money to encourage the invention of renewable energy, which completely takes part of fossil fuels and contributes greatly to environmental protection and our health. More inventions mean that the government should invest more in scientific research. For instance, investing more in the university laboratories and paying the scientists. Admittedly, ensuring sustainable development will require a certain level of sacrifice and arduous efforts on the part of all people. Nonetheless, accrued returns will both strengthen the nation and ensure a better life for all humans.
Another reason why I agree with the point that we should invent renewable energy is that I think environmental pollution not only poses a great threat to our existence, so much so that became a critical influence upon future human beings, due to rapid economic growth lead to an over extension of resources and lead to eventual catastrophic pollution in future. What does the future hold if mankind persists in wasting natural resources? So it is absolutely essential to reverse the irrational misuse of nonrenewable resources. For illustration, fuel efficient motor vehicles must be developed to reduce oil consumption and alternative energy sources must be found to replace coal.
To sum up, government should focus its plan more on environmental protection and invent renewable energy, not only for human health, but also for our future.
