答案是C很好理解
我的疑问就是对比这里的AC与BDE选项，有的是which修饰Colosseum，有的是过去分词修饰
我想问下这里是不是存在which was 不简洁的问题，这里是不是因为其它选项都不够好才选C这个比较wordy的结构的？还是在这里which was本身就比过去分词好？

在beatthegmat上搜到了一个学生的解答不知道是否正确。不太理解

and is also required after Vespasian,, otherwise it will become a run-on sentence.

A选项中缺少连词把began和was completed连接起来
B选项中的begun使用错误
D选项的结构破坏了句子意思，读者无法弄请colosseum到底是什么时候建成的
E选项的结构是and 前面的子句没有了动词

回LZ，不是说哪个就比哪个好，而是从句和分词哪个更适合句意，就用哪个。在本题中，不是因为定语从句比分词好，而是其他句子都有结构错误。只有C只最正确的。

那么如果把分词引导的选项改对，那么该怎么选呢

which was 和分词修饰在本题都正确，但是更关键的是看parallelism符合了没有

不知亲亲在纠结个啥，which is ved和ved本身来讲在这道题都是作定语修饰前面的N短语，所以which is ved=ved，而Gmat认为，能精简就精简，所以在concise层面，ved可以优选，但是which is ved并不是错的，就是较为啰嗦。。。。。。。。。。。。。真正的语法问题肯定不是这个，所以当语法层面都对的情况下，定语选择ved由于which is ved，但是不可根据这一点而进行绝对性的判断。。。其他点同意LS和kiwi的想法

我觉得不能去掉which，如果用ed形式，那么修饰的就是句子的主语，construction，而不是colosseum了。那样meaning就是错误的了。当然，其他的错误比这个更明显。
