关于A OF B中modifier 是修饰A 还是B， 以及pronoun是指代A还是B的一点疑问

如上题目所示， 刚才找了下论坛，妈的人太笨了，搜索出来一大堆 都没有自己想要的

我目前个人的理解是  that which之类的从句修饰都是修饰整体用的，我记得manhattan后面modifier extra里面说过A OF B结构中B非常紧密的修饰的A所以其他的修饰语一般是修饰整体


然后代词it they之类的指代的话  根据语意可以指代A 或者B或者A OF B


这样的理解对否？


之前看OG13感觉好像又不能这么绝对，搞得有迷糊了下。 今天不小心翻到一个如下

A中的that是修饰snails用的？？？   that 这种情况下不是要修饰the habitat of freshwater snails 吗？ 如果修饰整体 那么就不对啊，habitat怎么能够是the parasite's hosts的主语呢？？


这个我记得以前看到过论坛有人解释过，不过刚才又找了好久实在没找到。有知道人给个链接或者什么的吧 我好去找找看看。。。。

你肯定记错了，也不必费心去找了，作为定语从句，能修饰名词，但对于有介宾结构短语的名词，没有硬性规定，要根据句子逻辑判断是修饰核心词还是介宾结构的宾语。

顺便说一下，既然LZ已经把句子逻辑意思都理解的很明白了，也清楚的知道这个定语从句修饰的是哪个词，为什么还要去钻那种牛角尖呢？难道凡事不变通？一条规则用到底？
